Lasers have been used to remove tattoos for a long time. The principle is simple: a laser beam hits the pigment particles of a tattoo, which are broken down into tiny particles by its energy. Macrophages – the body's so-called clean-up cells – eat these pieces and then float with the lymph flow to the liver. The tattoo is blown off. However, it usually takes many treatments to achieve a truly visible result. As a rule, the lasers were able to cause the tattoo to fade considerably, but complete removal was rarely possible.

How the treatment works

As with almost all laser treatments, you should not be tanned and should also avoid the sun for approx. 4 weeks afterwards. Depending on the size of the tattoo, the treatment takes 10-30 minutes and is not painful with PicoPlus. The tattoo swells slightly after laser treatment, which disappears after a few days. The next treatment can then be carried out after eight weeks.
