Laser procedures such as ELVeS, VNUS Closure Fast, stripping, the hook method or foam sclerotherapy are used here. Only in the second step are the spider veins themselves treated.
Spider veins are treated using a combination of foam sclerotherapy and laser light. This combination avoids the scarring that can occur with laser treatment and achieves very effective results without any significant pain or special follow-up treatments. There is no need to wear compression stockings.
A spider vein is an intricately branched structure that extends several centimeters deep under the skin. The foam reaches all the side branches, and the subsequent laser energy then leads to complete closure of the vessel – it disappears.
With the YAG laser or the IPL lamp, the light impulse is absorbed by the blood in the vessel. The entire vessel heats up and shrinks like a "steak on the grill". When we laser the spider veins, they can no longer carry blood.
Patience is required until the final result is visible. It often takes several appointments before the patient is completely satisfied. As a rule, 2-6 appointments at intervals of 2-3 weeks are sufficient to remove all spider veins, but sometimes more treatments are required.
By the way: With our method, you can do sports immediately afterwards and return to the sun after just a few days! Disturbing spider veins can therefore actually be removed without any restrictions.
Spider veins are very small dilated veins visible on the skin surface or shining through it with a reddish hue. They are generally harmless from a medical perspective, but many people find them cosmetically bothersome. In some cases, spider veins may cause mild discomfort. Before treating them, the affected area is carefully examined to rule out any complications.
Unfortunately, there is no guaranteed way to prevent spider veins, but it's possible to reduce risk factors. A healthy lifestyle is key: avoid alcohol and nicotine. Regular exercise such as walking, jogging, and swimming, along with massages and contrast showers, can improve blood circulation and help prevent spider veins.
Spider veins do not go away on their own, and creams or home remedies typically offer little to no improvement. The only effective way to remove them is through professional medical treatment.
Depending on the severity of the spider veins, the appropriate treatment method is selected. In most cases, a combination of techniques (e.g. foam sclerotherapy and laser treatment) is used. The affected skin areas are treated quickly, minimally invasively, and without pain.
