During laser treatment, the high-energy light pulses are directed into the upper skin, the light is completely absorbed by the brown pigment of the pigment spots. It heats up for a very short time (milliseconds) and this heat then leads to the destruction of this layer. It is repelled - the stain disappears. This phenomenon is called "selective photothermolysis". It works best on light skin with dark spots.
The treatment is short and slightly uncomfortable. You feel a small sting, nothing more. Immediately afterwards, the treated spots appear slightly darker as a sign of the effectiveness of the therapy. After a few days, the skin flakes slightly, the stain is shed and disappears. Apart from a slight reddening of the skin, nothing more is visible. In most cases, one treatment is sufficient.
