Rejuvenation of the hands

Unfortunately, the ageing process does not stop at our hands, and the appearance of the hands often no longer matches a fresh-looking (because treated) facial region. To hide the signs of age on the hands, it would be possible to always wear gloves like Karl Lagerfeld, but this is certainly not a solution for many people. Many of our patients would like to have their hands or the back of their hands "rejuvenated". This is possible thanks to the latest laser technologies.

As we age, we lose collagen, which leads to a loss of elasticity in the skin. The skin becomes loose and wrinkly. In a youthful hand, collagen – the elastic fibers under the skin – allows the skin to stretch or contract depending on the movement of the hand and not remain in folds or wrinkles. The skin of the "young" hand is also so thick that it does not allow the tendons and/or blood vessels to show through. With increasing age, the skin becomes thinner and blood vessels and tendons become visible on the back of the hand. The hand looks old and wrinkled.

We specialize in the "rejuvenation" of the hand and use various methods. Depending on the problem, the vessels can be permanently removed using foam sclerotherapy, and the skin can be thickened using fillers or autologous fat. However, lasers can now also help here. The two wavelengths of Nd: AYG and Erb: YAG allow the skin on the back of the hand to be refreshed so that the hands once again fit perfectly with the appearance of the body. We formulate an individual strategy for each patient to achieve the desired result – sometimes, it is necessary to combine several treatment methods. Laser lifting can tighten the hands, treat any age-related pigmentation and also lead to the formation of new collagen.

Depending on the ageing process, up to three treatments may be necessary before the perfect result can be achieved. Often only one session is sufficient.
