In addition to therapy-related hair loss and a hereditary predisposition, women lose their hair particularly during pregnancy or the menopause. The reason is that oestrogens increase hair growth, while androgens inhibit it. During certain hormonal phases, the production of the female gonads is reduced, resulting in an excess of male hormones. It is therefore understandable that hair can fall out more frequently, when there is a change in the hormone balance.

Hair follicle

Other factors such as age or the time of year also play a major role. Hair loss is due to reduced follicle blood flow. Hair follicles become smaller and smaller and shrink – the hair becomes thinner and thinner until it falls out.

CAUSES OF HAIR LOSS IN WOMEN

  • hereditary factors
  • shift in the hormonal balance
  • chemotherapy
  • certain medications
  • alopecia Areata (circular hair loss due to
    dysregulation of the immune system)
  • dysfunction of the thyroid gland
  • severe infections/poisoning
  • metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus
  • stress, nutritional deficiencies, deficiency symptoms due to diets

When is hair loss said to occur?
It is important to know that there are times with higher hair loss, which does not usually lead to permanent hair thinning in the sense of androgenetic alopecia. It is normal to lose around 50-100 hairs a day. If more than 100 hairs are lost per day, the hair begins to thin out and hair loss can be said to have occurred.

HAIR LOSS THERAPY

Hair loss therapy is primarily based on eliminating identifiable causes such as hypothyroidism, vitamin or iron deficiency, etc. In many cases, however, no clear cause of hair loss can be identified, so proven medications based on silica and other substances are used. Sometimes minoxidil (Reagine) can also be used.

Recently, there has been an alternative whose effectiveness has been proven in various studies – the use of blood plasma. In autologous blood therapy (vampire lifting), this is obtained from the patient's own blood by gently centrifuging it under certain conditions. The latest studies show that autologous blood therapy has incredible healing effects that were previously underestimated. The blood plasma contains high doses of growth factors, messenger substances, hormones and other substances that stimulate the regeneration of cells and renew them. In orthopaedics, for example, autologous blood therapy is used with great success for osteoarthritis and other "degenerative diseases". In aesthetic medicine, too, autologous blood therapy has become an important pillar of treatment in anti-aging therapies for the face.

Recently, autologous blood therapy has also been used to revitalize hair follicles on the scalp – with outstanding success. After just one treatment of the scalp with autologous blood therapy, hair loss stops, and the follicles recover. As a rule, 3 treatments at intervals of 4 weeks are necessary to achieve an optimal result. The final result is usually visible after 8 months – a significantly stronger head of hair. We recommend a maintenance treatment once a year. There are no known side effects with autohaemotherapy.

The best results are achieved, if treatment is carried out at the onset of hair loss. Once hair follicles have completely broken down, autologous blood therapy unfortunately no longer helps. Autologous blood therapy even helps with alopecia areata (circular hair loss), which is caused by a malfunction of the immune system.

HOW THE TREATMENT WORKS:

Our blood consists of 6% platelets (thrombocytes), a concentrate of these blood components is required for effective treatment. For this purpose, some blood is taken from a vein in the arm and centrifuged using a special reagent tube. The resulting plasma is immediately injected into the scalp affected by hair loss using the finest microneedles during autologous blood therapy.

The treatment takes about an hour and is completely painless asit is carried outin twilight sleep. Alternatively, the scalp can be desensitized beforehand with an anaesthetic cream. You can return to work, exercise, etc. immediately afterwards. In rare cases, the scalp may swell a little, but this is no longer visible after a short time. Other side effects such as allergies, intolerances etc. do not occur because autologous blood therapy is a product produced naturally in the body.

Treatment example: Three treatments were carried out at four-week intervals and the results were documented after one year.
