Plasma is the fourth state of aggregation of matter. As you may remember from school, there are solid, liquid and gaseous states. When gas is charged by energy (e.g., the air between thunderclouds), it discharges by forming plasma in the form of lightning. Over 90% of the entire universe consists of plasma.
Resourceful scientists have discovered this material for skin tightening and have developed an effective device for this purpose, the PlexR®.
In contrast to lasers or radio frequency, the heat is not generated in the skin, but in the plasma flash in the air above the skin. This makes the procedure significantly less damaging to the tissue and much gentler on the skin than laser or radiofrequency. The treated skin sublimates, i.e., its uppermost layer evaporates. The small superficial lesion heals without scarring. Plasma treatment causes scar-free shrinkage of the skin; an effect that can be used against wrinkles and excess skin, e.g., in the case of sagging upper and lower eyelid wrinkles and wrinkles in general and can replace surgery.
The treatment is short and painless, an anesthetic ointment is usually sufficient. The PlexR® is then used to make many small lesions on the skin, which are smaller than 1mm per point. The treatment results in slight crusts on the skin. Depending on the area, slight swelling may also occur, but these side effects disappear within 3-4 days. After 2-4 weeks, the result can be assessed, and the next treatment can be planned. Depending on the desired result, several treatments may be necessary.
The wrinkles around the mouth – known as "cobblestone relief" or "tobacco pouch wrinkles" – were previously very difficult to treat. Injecting these wrinkles gives certain results, but the result with fillers is usually unsatisfactory, expensive (a lot of material is needed until a passable result is visible) and only short-lived. Laser or deep peelings can also be used, but these often disfigure the face for weeks and the patient is not socially acceptable.
PlexR® now makes it possible to permanently smooth out these difficult-to-treat wrinkles by tightening the skin. The result lasts for years.
