Peeling uses chemical substances to remove the top layer of skin with its irregularities and changes. Shortly afterwards, a new, significantly smoother layer of skin with an even appearance is created.
Chemical peelings (peeling treatments) are carried out with various solutions, such as fruit acids, trichloroacetic acids, Jessner solutions or phenol.
The main purpose of superficial peeling is to refresh and rejuvenate the skin. The chemical substances dissolve the bonds between the horny cells and the outer skin layer, resulting in faster regeneration of the horny layer and stimulation of collagen formation. There are no disfiguring changes to the face and you are fit for social life again immediately after the treatment. There is no visible redness or peeling; however, it often needs to be repeated until the desired result is visible. Superficial peels are used for ageing skin (dull skin, complexion without shine, wrinkles, pigmentation spots), blemished skin (open and closed acne comedones, tendency to small spots, large pores), melasma and chloasma (brown spots on the face caused by a combination of pregnancy hormones and sunlight).
Medium-depth peeling is similar to superficial peeling, but does not need to be repeated as often and the rejuvenating effect lasts longer. The course of treatment for medium-depth peeling is similar to superficial peeling: After the procedure, the skin peels, which can be easily concealed with a follow-up care using nourishing creams. There is no pronounced change to the face that would be immediately visible to those around you. You are socially acceptable immediately after the peel.
With a deep peel, the chemical change extends to the lower skin layer. A solution is often used here that penetrates deep into the skin. This effect leads to the blurring of deep vertical wrinkles around the lip, eyes (crow's feet) and forehead (horizontal forehead wrinkles). However, it also requires a correspondingly strong reaction. The facial skin swells, reddens and the outer horny layer is shed; this healing phase takes about 14 days. For this reason, you should take a few days off work, as the face may look "disfigured".
We often use the fractionated CO2 laser as an alternative to deep peeling. This achieves similar results with fewer side effects.
An exact skin analysis must always be carried out before planning a chemical peel. Depending on the skin changes and the patient's expectations, the treatment that achieves the best result is selected.

PRX-T33 is a biorevitalization of the skin without injections/needles. The unique combination of 33% TCA with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) eliminates the need to peel the skin. In addition, PRX-T33 does not cause photosensitization, which is why it is possible to go out in the sun directly after the treatment.
H2O2 alone is not able to penetrate the skin and TCA is very aggressive for the skin. However, when the two substances are combined, H2O2 can penetrate the skin barrier and the "sharpness" of the TCA is weakened. Both substances complement each other in their effect and work synergistically. This explains why there is no peeling reaction. H2O2 has different properties depending on the concentration: In high concentrations it slows down healing processes, while in low concentrations it can accelerate regeneration processes. The latter is the case with PRX-T33; the low concentration of H2O2 enables improved tissue regeneration. TCA stimulates the "skin stress response system" (SSRS) and thus ensures higher fibroblast activity and collagen formation. This effect is reflected in a minimal swelling of the skin directly after treatment, which immediately leads to a fuller and firmer appearance.
Kojic acid – another component of this peeling – has a slight skin-brightening effect and thus corrects slight pigmentation disorders.
