The miraDry treatment is carried out under local anesthesia and is not a surgical procedure, so it does not require anesthesia or incisions in the skin. The principle is simple: Radio frequency heat destroys the fine sweat glands located directly in the skin. Simultaneous cooling prevents the skin from being damaged.
Treatment with miraDry takes approx. 60-90 minutes and is carried out in three steps:
First, the armpits are desensitized with local anaesthetic. An anesthetic cream or a short twilight sleep ensures that the treatment is not noticeable.
The treatment plan is then applied to the skin using a "decal".
