Sensual, erotic and youthful: This is how a full, beautifully curved kissable mouth is usually perceived. But this is not the main reason for wanting a lip correction; some people's lips are congenitally rather narrow and can appear bitter or severe. In other cases, there are asymmetries, the border between the red of the lips and the surrounding skin may be weak or the cupid's bow ("cupid's bow", arch in the middle of the upper lip) may be flat. Such changes often also develop with age; when the connective tissue sags and the fat decreases over the years, the lips lose volume and appear thinner. The shape of the lips can therefore change over the course of a lifetime (e.g., disappearance of the cupid's bow), the lip contour often frays and small wrinkles form. Women are particularly bothered by the fact that their lipstick runs blurred into the lip lines, which can look unkempt.
Dr. Linde uses a special technique for lip injections in which the contour is first defined (framing) before micro-injections of hyaluronic acid into the red of the lips create completely natural-looking lips. It is very important here to also model the two symmetrical protrusions of the lower lip, which make the lip look particularly sensual and harmonious.
In addition to the correct size in relation to the face, the right curve, the interplay of the contours and the harmonious proportions of the upper and lower lip are decisive for the appearance of a perfect lip, whereby the upper lip should have 1/3 and the lower lip 2/3 of the lip volume.
Our aim is always to give the lips more volume without making them look unnatural or over-corrected, as is the case with certain stars and starlets. When correcting lips, we aim to create natural-looking lips that do not lose their original shape but appear fuller and more harmonious. To achieve this, we work with different substances such as hyaluronic acid or autologous fat; depending on the material used, the results last from a few months to several years.
Before any lip augmentation, the lip is first analyzed so that the lips can then be injected with hyaluronic acid in such a way that the treatment corresponds exactly to the patient's wishes and is also in harmony with the other facial proportions. For natural, full-bodied and aesthetically pleasing lips, Dr. Linde primarily uses the latest generation of hyaluronic acids, such as Teosyal Kiss. This product follows the movements of the lips without deforming them. The patient's own fat, on the other hand, is rarely used for the lips because it is less suitable for sculpting fine details. However, if the lips are very thin, autologous fat can be a good alternative to hyaluronic acid.
It is very important to treat and lift the corners of the mouth, which often "hang" downwards, during lip injections. When planning a lip treatment, it is essential to consider the dynamics of movement when smiling as well as the shape when the mouth is closed. Some lips are almost perfect at rest, but become a straight, thin line when smiling, which can then appear rather unaesthetic. Or there is too much gum when smiling (gummy smile), which can also have a negative effect. A charming, radiant smile can often be achieved quite easily by influencing parts of the lip muscle with relaxing micro-injections so that the lip remains full and sensual even when moving. This technique is called the "lip flip".
During a detailed preliminary discussion, the substance that best suits the patient is selected. The treatment itself takes 30 minutes and is performed painlessly in twilight sleep. You can drive and return to work immediately after the lip augmentation. Major swelling is rare, although the lips will feel swollen for the first few hours after the injection. The result usually lasts for 6-12 months and is highly dependent on the intensity of movement as well as individual lifestyle habits.
