The movement of the mouth is controlled by the large lip muscle, the labialis muscle. Using a special technique ("lip flip"), the basic tension of this muscle can be minimally altered, making the lip appear fuller. Unlike normal lip injections, this treatment does not use hyaluronic acid or autologous fat, but a muscle-relaxing substance. This is injected into the muscle above the upper edge of the lip, causing the upper lip to slightly fold over or "flip up." Hence the name – lip flip. The lips automatically appear larger and crisply plumped, but in a very natural way. After all, the lip surface itself is not artificially filled, but only the middle area above the lip contour.
The cost of the lip flip treatment is CHF 200.00-400.00. As with fillers, the effect lasts for around 3-8 months and then needs to be repeated. The lip flip is often combined with a filler treatment of the lips. The treatment consists of two small injections and is virtually painless, there are no side effects.
