The cause of hooded eyelids is the sagging of the forehead and eye area. It's an annoying issue, but there is an effective solution: an eyelid lift, also known as “blepharoplasty”. This is a relatively minor and low-risk surgical procedure performed under local anaesthesia and takes about 30 minutes.
The procedure is painless and carried out under twilight sedation, so patients do not feel anything during the treatment. Afterwards, you can expect some bluish discoloration (bruising) for about a week – we therefore recommend working from home or even taking a few days off after an eyelid lift.
