A woman's breasts change over the course of her life, which can lead to the desire for a correction. Breasts often lose fullness, elasticity and resilience, particularly after pregnancy/breastfeeding or significant weight loss. They begin to sag, the upper half of the breast flattens and the nipples droop. Weak connective tissue in combination with age-related factors accelerates this process.
As a new, innovative method, it is possible to "lift" the breast tissue using threads. Threads are pulled under the skin, which have small barbs on them that allow the skin to be tightened. The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis, is painless and the patient can go home or work immediately after the procedure. Depending on the findings, absorbable sutures are used, which dissolve again, or non-absorbable sutures, which are made of silicone. The stitches are not visible or noticeable. The result is visible immediately after the treatment and usually lasts for several years.
If the shape of the breast is also to be changed in addition to volume reduction, a scalpel is required.
This is a surgical procedure, often medically indicated, for example in the case of an abnormal enlargement of the mammary gland (macromastia) or if the weight of the breast has an unfavorable effect on the body statics and therefore causes discomfort. If the volume of the breasts is too large in relation to the body, this can be associated with considerable physical impairments for those affected, such as back, head and neck pain through to postural damage or even skeletal deformities. The aim of breast reduction surgery is therefore to adjust the weight and volume of the breast.
In addition to an aesthetically pleasing shape and minimal scarring, the ability to breastfeed and the sensation and function of the nipple should be preserved. A modern surgical method must therefore take into account both anatomical and physiological conditions and enable a safe, predictable aesthetic result. We have been using the technique of breast reduction with a vertical scar since 1995. Excellent results can be achieved without leaving ugly visible scars.
